I've programmed in many languages on many platforms for many purposes over the course of 40 years. I've been a professional programmer for corporate programming, a hobby programmer for game programming, a mentor to young programmers (well, 1 anyway), and am always studying to learn more.
My answers are based more on general programming knowledge than any specific language, platform or library.
Currently I'm looking at where I'm going to make my living in the future and it may or may not be in the world of programming, but it will always be apart of my life as a hobby, in the least.
I've forgotten more languages than I currently know, but after you know more than 5 or so new languages are easy to pick up in a short time (I got a job programming in RPG which I'd never heard of and was fully productive in a month, although some of the language specifics I didn't touch for years. Why, oh why, IBM, did you change the cycle and forms between RPGII and RPGIII? That has hurt your platform for many years as programmers don't want to deal with rewriting working code because you don't bother with backwards compliance).
