“Hobby programmer”, for 20+ years.
Primary languages include Assembler, Basic, (V)C(++), Pascal, PHP.
I love low-level computer usage. One of my favorite things about computers has been doing assembler programming back in the DOS days (I actually wrote a mouse-driven graphics editor that let you save your files and such in pure assembler.)
When it comes to reversing, I’ve done a few minor things over the years. I suppose my first time was when I put my name in the credits of the first game I ever bought (which I got the day after we got our first computer, way back in the day). I’ve also modified a few things in Windows to make improvements and enhancements that Microsoft failed to do.
Even when I don’t have a practical use, I’m always looking to learn trick and techniques just for the sake of knowing.
Low-level computer knowledge like reversing is particularly useful for computer security, which I am always eager to learn about. My specialty is in hardening Windows.
