I am currently trying to run a router firmware via qemu inside a docker container. I'm using multiarch/qemu-user-static:x86_64-mips.

Here is my Dockerfile:

FROM multiarch/qemu-user-static:x86_64-mips

COPY ./squashfs-root/ /

ENTRYPOINT ["/usr/bin/qemu-mips-static", "/bin/sh"]

docker build -t firmware .

I start the container via:

docker run -it --rm --name test firmware

BusyBox v1.24.2 () built-in shell (ash)

/ # uname -m

The shell works fine, until i want to exec shell code:

Error while loading /usr/sbin/wifi_check.sh: Exec format error
  • exec format error occurs when u try to run your program on unsupported architecture
