I get a firmware https://www.zyxel.com/us/en/support/DownloadLandingSR.shtml?c=us&l=en&kbid=M-02811&md=GS1200-5#searchZyxelTab4

I would like to look at the filesystem, but i don't figure out how.

I tried the classical approach using binwalk -e, but it gives me a lot of zlib file.

How do you figure out what is the filesystem (cramfs, squashfs or maybe other)?

I guess the image embeds the bootloader also, it could be nice to extract.

Any help is welcomed :)

Thanks in advance

  • Were there any errors when running binwalk, if you scroll back up? Sometimes, it needs a 3rd party program that you are missing. Also not sure if binwalk -e requires the -M here too. – multithr3at3d Oct 4 '20 at 20:18
