I'm aware of IDA Pro, but it doesn't generate a compilable code.

I don't want exact original source code or comments, I just want a recompilable code generation.

The exe is not packed and does not have any kind of protection.

  • Very often IDA Pro does create disassembly that can be assembled into object code. Or are you asking about the Hex-Rays plugin? It's not really clear what you want to achieve. If you simply want to manipulate an aspect of a program, your own suggested path is like a sledgehammer. – 0xC0000022L Jan 31 at 8:11
  • @0xC0000022L IDA Pro nor known Hex Rays plugins are not my solution because those cannot decompile or disaseemble a recompilable code. Well, it's not like a sledgehammer if I want to make major changes and not minor patches. – AssassiN Feb 2 at 10:28
  • There is currently no silver bullet for these cases. The best you can arguably find is something like retdec, as it would allow you to fix issues you find in the decompilation. But I doubt it's perfect (I am not aware of a perfect tool). If you want to make bigger changes you may want to tell a bit more about your target. Currently this question is somewhere between eliciting opinions and too broad. – 0xC0000022L Feb 2 at 12:49
