I am working on a class project. I need to find out static features of a program (without executing it).

  1. Backward branches (loops)
  2. Conditional branches (potential threads with load imbalance)
  3. Interrupts (indicates synchronization, or IO, ...)

How can I find this. Any help would be highly appreciated.

  • what do you mean by "with executing it" (I assume dynamic)? but you also meantioned that you want to do a static instrumentation? – R4444 Jul 22 '19 at 5:22
  • Can you explain more clearly? Do you want to find this information statically or do you want to detect these conditions when you are executing inside a debugger-like program? – Kerim Can Kalıpcıoğlu Jul 22 '19 at 9:11
  • Apologies for confusing, I have updated the question. I want this information without executing the program (static analysis). – Tulsi Jul 23 '19 at 6:06
